Abstract

Fenomena upwelling yang membawa air dingin dan kaya nutrisi ke permukaan laut berperan penting meningkatkan produktivitas primer perairan, mendukung pertumbuhan fitoplankton sebagai dasar rantai makanan. Proses ini berkaitan dengan kemunculan thermal front, zona pertemuan dua massa air dengan temperatur berbeda,  yang berkontribusi pada produktivitas primer dan distribusi ikan sehingga menarik perhatian ikan pelagis seperti tuna dan cakalang yang bergantung pada ketersediaan makanan yang melimpah. Oleh karena itu pemahaman mengenai dinamika upwelling dan thermal front sangat penting untuk penentuan Zonasi Potensial Penangkapan Ikan (ZPPI). Metode yang digunakan mencakup analisis data citra satelit SNPP-VIIRS dan Aqua-MODIS untuk mendeteksi thermal front menggunakan algoritma Single Image Edge Detection (SIED), serta pengolahan data klorofil-a dan Catch per Unit Effort (CpUE) dengan model Habitat Suitability Index (HSI) dan Generalized Additive Model (GAM). Tujuan dari review ini adalah mengkaji metode efektif yang digunakan untuk menentukan hubungan antara fenomena Upwelling dan Thermal front dalam penentuan sebaran zonasi penangkapan ikan di perairan.
